As the body designated by the Secretary of State in England and Welsh Ministers in Wales, CICAIR Ltd maintains and operates the Construction Industry Council Approved Inspectors Register (CICAIR).
One of CICAIR’s functions is to maintain and publish a Code of Conduct for Approved Inspectors setting out how Approved Inspectors should discharge their responsibilities. The Code is required to include disciplinary procedures and types of sanctions to be applied to Approved Inspectors who breach the requirements of the Building Act 1984, the Building (Approved Inspectors etc.) Regulations 2010, or the provisions of the Code of Conduct.
We have recently undertaken a review of our current Sanctions Guidance. As a consequence, the CICAIR Board is now undertaking a consultation exercise on new draft Indicative Sanctions Guidance, which it intends will replace the current Sanctions Guidance, Issue 1 – January 2017.
We are keen to hear the views of as many stakeholders as possible, so if you are aware of others who may be interested in providing their views on the proposed new Guidance, please do alert them to this consultation.
